In continuance with our summer theme of tea smoothie recipes, we have a few that you’ll love.
Most variations of tea offer some type of health benefit that gives consumers an extra boost. This month we’ll look at the benefits of black tea and several recipes that will offer refreshment for the hot summer months.
One of the most beneficial aspects of black tea is the positive effects it has on your heart. According to Arab L. et al. in their 2009 research paper entitled “Green and black tea consumption and risk of stroke: a meta-analysis,” individuals who consume three or more cups of tea had a 21 percent lower risk of a stroke than people who consume less than one cup of green or black tea per day.
Another great benefit of black tea is its possible prevention of cancer. More research is needed on this but several studies over the years have suggested that antioxidants like polyphenol and catechins in black tea have great benefits to prevent cancer.
Below are a couple of recipes that we’ll give you the black tea fix you need with the health benefits and a cold summer drink sure to cool you down.
